FORSA venture capital arm aims to invest in early stage / start-up companies with strong female management or female-oriented products and services, a scalable business model and sound financials forecasts.
FORSA provides start-up capital to women entrepreneurs
FORSA's VC objective is aligned with FORSA's overall mandate to empower female entrepreneurs by providing them with start-up capital. It is also aimed to offer women investors the possibility to invest in different asset classes, while at the same time promoting the development of women entrepreneurs.
The UAE and other Middle Eastern governments understand that the future of the region must be built on a diversified economy and actively promote entrepreneurship in respective countries. Even with those initiatives, women involvement in new ventures is still significantly low when compared to men.
FORSA's VC arm aims to leverage this disparity and service the female community by seeking to invest start-up capital in businesses run by women, or businesses that deliver products or services for women, or businesses that employ a significant female labor force. However, strict measures of performance must be passed by any potential investment before FORSA will commit its capital, irrespective of gender-orientation.
FORSA manages its portfolio of companies with a long term view, nurturing and supporting growth or economies of scale. With a team of experienced and high caliber professionals and an important corporate network of relationships with our parent company Dubai World, FORSA is an added valued investor in the companies it invests in.
There is a strong business case for a dedicated fund of women-oriented start-up businesses
FORSA's VC exit strategy will concentrate on sales to private equity investors, trade sales as well as sell-backs to entrepreneurs.
